I’ve had an extreme sensitivity to steel jewelry since childhood, which meant I could never really enjoy the fashionable, statement pieces I loved. Before every event, my younger sister and I would spend at least half an hour trying to get a pair of big, chunky earrings on – because apparently, fashion first, pain later!

Jokes apart, those were genuinely painful years. There were times when taking my earrings off meant dealing with sore, irritated, and even bleeding earlobes. I tried everything – from high-end to more affordable artificial jewelry brands – but nothing seemed to work for me.

And that’s where Shine Theory began.

I started looking for jewelry that could give me the fashion I loved without the discomfort I had grown accustomed to. Along the way, I realized I couldn’t possibly be the only woman facing this problem.
